Why are there so many homeless people in US?

Believe it or not, some people like being homeless. But I think it's only a minority. For example if you watch the movie 'The Soloist' it took the musicians friend along time to convince him that he needed to get into housing. He refused housing for a long time. Then he was finally convinced and his friend rented him an apartment. Homelessness is such a complicating subject. I'm sure that if you went to the library you could find a book about it. Good Luck.
