What do i do with my botfriend ?

My boyfriend is still in love with his ex that he dated almost over 2 years ago and they still talk . I mean me and my boyfriend have been together for 7 months .. and they still talk witch he just told me this today , im glad hes being honest but he told me he cant love anyone ever again .. cause he still loves her !! Me and him aren't very snoopy with eachother , he doesnt go through my phone and i dont go through his phone . I never have any insecurities , but why would he tell me this ... & hes 21 annd he still dwells over his past about everything . I've never met his ex girlfriend but it makes me really insecure about my self .. cause i feel like she is better then me because of what he said . But i mean i like me and him are on the verge of breaking up .. but he said i did nothing wrong , witch i know i didnt . He is an alcaholic and i look past everything i dont like about him .. but i have been there for him so much , when he had no money , i helped him out .. when he had no one , i was there ... and i dont know im just so confused what to do cause he doesnt even know what he wants now , hes saying i should just give him time but then he also said he cant change his feelings .. hes giving me mixed messeges . I dont know if i should stay or if i should go or what i can do to keep him ? cause i want to be with him .. even though he puts me through alot . I dont know im just blabbing on now , and i think you get my point lol .
