I have recently bought Yamaha SS125, it emits more heat at 55 km/h, is this normal...?

I have recently bouht Yamaha SS125, it emits more heat at 55 km/h, is this normal...and also gear shifting is not as smooth as Hero Honda Splendour..any inputs plz...
