Is there anyway to copy highlighted text to the clipboard in Windows XP?

I use the AutoCopy plugin in Firefox; For those who don't know, it automatically copies highlighted text to the clipboard, and lets you paste with a middle click. Is there anyway I can do this throughout Windows XP? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
