You will need at least a 4 years bachelor degree, preferably in forensic science as it sounds with a specialization in something such as chemistry, ballistics, etc. On top of that, FBI only hires people who have served in the military with a high security clearance (so not military jobs like chef, or welder, etc) or you need at least 3-4 years of investigative work as a detective for a large police department, not tiny town usa. And detective jobs are earned in the police force, so even though you're a junior now, you can still achieve this goal if you really work for it. Should my 1 year old get ear tubes? Read details.?

We have an appointment with an ear, nose and throat doctor in a week and I have been researching about it because when she was in the hospital for rsv and pneumonia, she also developed an ear infection and they saw from her charts that it was the 5th or 6th in 7 months and they decided to refer her to the ear, nose and throat doctor for an ear tube procedure. So she has had chronic ear infections, but they have always been treatable with antibiotics. I also had ear infections every other week when I was 5,6 and 7 years old, so I'm for her not suffering because I remember that they are painful. And I have maybe had 1 since the surgery at age 7. I had a discolored front tooth even from being on so many antibiotics (maybe the cause.) I hate for her to be having this many antibiotics. With every general anesthesia use, there are risks, which scare me. I know its a minor simple procedure, but it will still be hard for me. Cost is not an issue because insurance will cover just about all of it since the doctors have declared it medically necessary. It could help her hearing, or hurt it a little bit. It could help her speech, which she really doesn't talk yet, she just had her first birthday Saturday while she was in the hospital for the week. There can be complications which are rare, but still happen. She isn't exposed to any smoke and I still feed her, so she isn't getting ear infections from those risk factors. I remember when I got ear tubes, I had to wear wax ear plugs when swimming or taking a bath so water wouldn't get in my ears, so that would be a pain. Can you give me your experience or help me weigh out the negatives and positives please? Thank you!

This is a shot in the dark but I don't know where to start. My best friend's daughter, Cora(13) has survived leukemia twice, once as an infant and again when she was 11. She has been through large amounts of chemo and radiation and was fortunate to recieve a bone marow transplant. Because of God's grace, today she is doing well. However, because of all the treatment that she has recieved, she needs to take growth hormone shots daily for the rest of her life. Not to grow 1/2", but to ensure that her bones stay strong and prevent a boat load of other problems as she gets older. These shots are an average of $5000.00 per month. She isn't eligible for state insurance because her mother is not a loser and "makes too much money" acording to the state of WI. My question is, does anyone know of any istance, foundation, or advocates that could possibly give some direction as to what can be done financially so Cora can live her life without worry?

Car Transmission not engaging?

The van did not have its transmission oil changed for a long time. Yesterday while driving it was making a noise and the van was struggling to go forward then finally the car would not go neither reverse or forward (the engine is fine.. it starts with no problem). It all happened yesterday. Today when I moved the gear from Park to reverse or forward, nothing happened not even the little movements that cars make when changing gear. The transmission is not engaging/working. Will chaning the oil now help or it is too late? It is a Dodge Van Ram 2500, year 2000, RWD, automatic. Thank you.

I recently turned 22 and my boyfriend celebrated his 30th birthday 5 days before my own. I'm still doing community college courses and work part-time on partial wage salary for the coroner's office. Believe it or not, some people like being homeless. But I think it's only a minority. For example if you watch the movie 'The Soloist' it took the musicians friend along time to convince him that he needed to get into housing. He refused housing for a long time. I am no psychologist, but I do know that dreams are a reflection of the subconscious part of the brain. This may sound weird but ask ghost hunters to inspect your house. Caging a Bengal Cat for 24/7?

My co-worker's acquaintance bought a Bengal cat about 4 months ago. The cat is now about 1 year old. She paid $3000 for this animal strictly for breeding purposes, which she knows nothing about and can only see dollar signs regarding this cat. Since getting him she has kept the poor thing in a cage for 24 hours a day---never letting him out at all. I'd call that downright cruelty. Hey, so I have a major dilemma when it comes to talking to guys, and getting to like them or them to like me. Short bio: I am an honors student at a good university (GPA 4.93), I am tall, blonde, slightly overweight (about 15 pounds), I have been told via email that I am stunningly beautiful (the guy didn't have the guts to tell me to my face), I love to do almost anything like hike, sail, explore, read, watch movies, write, play instruments, sing... but I positively fail when it comes to men. Not a single guy asked me out last semester, or hardly even spoke to me. I try to be kind and fun, but I completely fail at flirting. Instead I launch into deep conversations about physics or politics. How do you flirt? What do you actually say? And sometimes I discount men to easily as not being up to par, but that is ridiculous. Help! dog throwing up question?

Dogs normally eat gr or dirt and leaves when they have an upset stomach. If he got into any people food or garbage that may be the problem. Also your food brand might not be sitting well with him. Don't worry about fasting him etc. that will only upset his stomach more. Make sure he drinks lots of water and has a normal amount of food. Monitor him to make sure he's not continuing eating things like that. If he continues to be sick after a day or two I would contact the vet. Otherwise it will probably p. Dogs eat those things to make themselves throw up because something's not sitting properly with them. The throwing up will be good as long as he doesn't do it regularly. He should settle down very soon, my dogs always have gotten over it. It's a very common thing. Make sure that he never eats people food or gets into garbage or things from your house like toilet paper or socks. I hope he's fine!

My husband is addicted to cocaine and refuses all help. He continues to use and lie about it and I want him out. Why neighbors complain?

I have a autistic 2 yr old and a 1 yr old. My neighbors have repeatedly complained to management and even called the police becuase of noise. I thought that when you live in an apartment complex you should expect some noise? The neighbors even threatened to move out! Therefore, I'm going to be evicted! Everywhere I move to this happens! It's not fair! I'm a single mother with 2 busy kids that wreck the house every day! From drawing on walls, ripping toilet paper, throwing food, staining carpet, braking things, opening and throwing dvds and books everywhere. This happens on a daily basis. Every day I have to vacm and sweep to make the place somewhat decent. I can't stop an autistic toddler, I'm doing the best I can! I'm at my wits end and then to get evicted because of noise I can't help? Toddlers throw tantrums esp autistic ones, and babies cry, esp when going to bed. I can't help that. And I also get in trouble for yelling at them, when they're on the other side of the room and constantly pressing ons on the dvd player when I'm dubbing a show on tv, I'm not suppose to yell when it keeps happening while I'm researching on the computer? Is there not some disability rights my daughter has and rights as a citizen and parent? This isn't fair! I can't afford a house and I never tattle tale on all the noise my nieghbors make, when they are hypocrits. Any suggestions on how to deal with this situation? I already told my neighbors that my daughter had autism? So WTF?

I have the same trouble with shyness, but people who know me well say I am very strong willed. I have a 99 civic lx (1.6L non-vtec) with an auto transmission, when I step on it from a dead start the RPM will go to about 4300 for 1st then shift to 2nd when I redline @ 6000 RPM why wont it go all the way up to redline in first gear? also when I step on the gas while going like 20/25/ even 30 mph it wont go into first and give the "big power" that I feel the car should have any suggestions or ideas why this happens? thanks

My Hp PSC 1410 All in One Printer Scanner Copier wont work~ I lost the installation disk! What can I do?

My old computer was a windows 2000. I decided to trash my old computer and get two new computers (college student is the reason) I bought an XP laptop and a Vista desktop. I have had them both about three months. When I realized that I wanted to scan something I noticed that Id lost the installation cd. It could have very well been thrown out with the old computer by mistake. I have been told that installation disks werent always needed for things like printers and cameras and things. I tried connecting my printer to the vista first. It said recognized new printer HP 1410 at the bottom of the screen but when I tried to use it it wouldnt work. I then tried to hook it up to the XP. It right away asked for the installation disk. The scanner/printer isnt even a good year old yet but Im really good at getting rid of everything that comes with things like this (foolishly thinking its nothing but clutter) so I cant even find the manual that would help me figure out what to do. Help if you can

They said I may not need surgery that I could be fitted for a customized brace for active wear? I want to be as close to normal as I can - not stuck with a brace because an HMO wants to cut costs. My employer says things about me that are untrue behind my back?

I started a new job in July, having been with my previous employers for over 4 years with never a bad or derogatory word said about me from them. That being said, my new boss is constantly defaming my character when i'm not around. so far to date here some things that were done to me. About a month or so into the job (1) she went to the office biller and asked her why her phone bill was over $100 higher than other months. The biller went through it and highlighted all HER personal phone calls and promptly paid our employer, however according to the office biller, it was aimed more at me from what our boss said to her regarding phone calls. So, i promptly went through it and found one call for .15 to my home in August and never another call has been made since. (2) She accused me of changing a date on a "received" piece of mail which I did not do. This happened when i left for a few days for surgery i needed to have done. (3) Text messaging at work which i also don't do, but the other girl (the biller) does do it and she's african-american and has had 2 other lawsuits against former employers for race discrimination. Our boss has clearly seen and heard her phone go off repeatedly throughout the day, day in and day out on her desk but it always comes that I'm the one who is texting and I'm not. My phone is in my purse all day under my desk. Now I was out sick yesterday due to complications from my surgery and she said to the other girl (the biller) that she never heard of that happening to me. Also, the other girl (the biller) had texted me yesterday while i was recuperating at home in my bed and i texted her back and her phone was out and open on her desk and our boss saw that it was me texting her and said if i was ok to text i was ok to work. my surgery had nothing to do with my hands it was gynecological. I'm at my whits end. I can't take much more of this "witch" hunting on me that the other girl is doing it is ok for her to do it, to have her phone out and get text messages when i don't even do it!!! help me!!!!

Good place to keep my gun in my home?

Display cases are nice.....I keep my airguns in them. My real rifles and pistols are kept in a safe room in a gun safe. Need advice on directors taking maternity leave in small business?

My husband and I.. and my sister run a plant garden centre. We are a smallish business and so all heavily involved. My sister had a baby three months ago and has worked right up until the birth of the baby but obviously in a plant nursery not up to 100% (she did brilliantly don't get me wrong) but now she has had 3 months where, although we insisted she took the time off, she has still been coming into work but doing 50% time of what we are doing and also no responsibility and coming and going as she needs to (again, understandably she has every right to as she should be on maternity leave). The problem is she is still taking the same wages and drawings and we can only claim back about a third off the government. This isn't a problem up until now but she has mentioned that SMP goes on for 39 weeks (goes down to �123 a week) and SML is 52 weeks. If it was an employee we would happily p on her �123 a week but she is taking her usual directors wage. Also more worryingly, we are wondering when we should expect her to take on her full duties and her full hours if she is taking her full pay. I don't begrudge her any time or money, we just want to plan the next year of our business and as the three of us are key in it, one person having no responsibility or set hours is proving difficult, especially at the pay they are commanding from our small business.... and yes, before any one says it, I too will be having babies in a few years but the third and equal partner in salary never will :-)

I've been very sick for a little over a week now. I went to the doctor (for the second time since getting sick) yesterday. He finds that I have a sinus infection a perscribes antibiotics. Last night when I took my contacts out I realized a had a mucous-like discharge coming from my eyes, but it was late so I just went to bed. I was up all night because of th headache from my sinus infection, so when there was goop in my eye I wiped it out. Today, my eye is swollen and watery with continuing discharge. Is this pink eye or something else?

Seems odd that remotely questionable email and often times legitimate mail gets filtered out, however, everyday there is mail coming through under the guise of, for example, "Betty Johnson", with solicitation to buy prescription drugs from Canada. The language used by these emails are so obviously for prescription drugs, even the simplest of filters should catch them. With words like, 'pharmacy', 'drugs', 'meds', etc. Since I'm a paying user (20.00 a year for additional features including spam filters) I would like to know if they are generating additional revenue on emails such as these. Here's the thing.... I have two house that are right next to eachother. One house in on 1/4 of an acre and the larger house is on 1/3 of an acre. I'm selling both of the homes and have 60 days to do so because I'm on a contingent offer with a new home that I am buying. It's a very good size lot that both of these houses are on for the area we are in. Everyone keeps telling me to see if I can subdivide my larger lot to make more of a profit. I've contacted the city about this and they told me that each lot has to be 8500sf and that it would not be possible. After that I started looking at brand new homes that were being built in the same town and I see lots as small as 6000sf!!! So why are they telling me I cant? If it is possible would it be wise to get it subdivided before I sell and sell that lot seperate? Or would it be better to sell the house on a 1/3 of an acre as is, having the buyer relize the lot would be subdividable.

I think I accidentally invented a teleportation device?

James, it would be helpful to know why your mother was able to get disability retirement. I don't want to give the impression I'm condoning her behaviors/attitude at all; however, It sounds as if she suffers from clinical depression. That would be a reason for her to be essentially nonfunctional. Do you know anything about her childhood, and her relationship with her parents/siblings? It sounds as if something happened to her to make her unable to relate to people and unable to function in the workplace. For you to point out her misdeeds just probably drives her into a deeper state of self-loathing. People who are depressed over a long period of time often enter a profession (such as nursing) in which they are vicariously helping themselves while helping others. Sometimes it works, but most of the time, it doesn't. They're just as miserable as ever, so they give up. The fact that she sits and plays Farmville on her computer tells me that she has withdrawn from society. I would guess that her house and yard are a mess. The reason she's asking for someone to help her with mowing the yard has nothing to do with the yard--it's a way of asking for some sign of affirmation. She's probably incapable of working at this point. If you can find it in your heart to make a change in your attitude toward her as a person and change from being verbally critical toward her, you might find that gradually she will change her behaviors. It may be very slight at first, but keep working at it and she will respond. Don't worry about the fact that she talks behind people's backs--that is the only way she knows of "connecting" with others. Be a big enough person to realize she is emotionally unwell. If she were a person with diabetes or cancer, I would bet you would be empathetic. Realize that clinical depression is also a disease. It's not something people can just "get over" and overcome. People who suffer from this need help just like people with any other chronic illness. It sounds as if she were a victim of child abuse--probably ual in nature. Victims of that are very angry and defensive, because their situation never got resolved and their innocence was taken from them. They lie and manipulate as a defense mechanism, because that's how they learned to survive as children. If she claims to be a Christian, ask her what she thinks Jesus could do to help her. Offer to attend church with her one time just to see what her belief system is. Work with the idea that she can turn to God/Jesus for help (which she may not believe at this point). Learn to look at the situation objectively. I know that is a very hard thing to ask, but it would help you as well. Sit down with her and make out a budget. Enlist the help of one of your friends, and teach her to use coupons for grocery shopping, and actually take her shopping once to help her budget her money by buying wise choices. (She probably eats a lot of starches/sweets, which depressed people do). I hope some of these ideas will be helpful to you. From a professional standpoint, I truly believe this is the problem.
